Art, Drama and Computer Literacy


All students receive weekly instruction in visual art. Art activities are coordinated with national and international events, core academic content and student interests.  Students’ work is displayed.


Students in grades 4,5, and  6 take drama once a week through a partnership with the Princess Theatre Center for the Performance Arts Creative Performance Academy.  Students develop many skills including public speaking, creative writing, team work, fundamentals of acting and literary interpretation. Students are currently working on a production of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves based on their own script.  The play will be performed for schools at the Princess Theatre, Decatur, AL on May 4 and a community matinee performance is planned for May 5.


Computer Literacy is provided to all students. Students learn according to grade level and also work on math, reading, science and social studies computer programs and computer related projects.
